Organic Fruit and Veggies Already Cut Up

Yahoo! We are on summer break! As a school teacher, I love being on break! All of us are home together more. We have a lot happening between basketball, trips, the county fair, and some mad Rumi-Q games! One of the main activities we find ourselves engaged in is feed the teenager. I notice that my kids graze more when we are home. I also notice my own eating habits change during the break.

I read somewhere recently a suggestion to try to keep to eating as if we were still on a school schedule. Even with trying to keep to main times for meals, the snacking is a challenge. I love to combat this for all of us by cutting up a huge plate of fresh organic fruit and veggies. That way anyone of us can do a fly-by and grab a bowl full of healthy snacks. Making it convenient and available. There is something about the human brain and consuming what is in front of us. I watched my family and myself go directly for the healthy snack even when there were other not so healthy options on the other side of a cabinet door. This plate of goodness was snacked on all day long! I am committing to doing this each morning! (My husband just said, “Awesome!”)
